Hougen's moves from the White
Pass Hotel building to a new location across from the ballpark on Main
St. The building is constructed of surplus wartime prefabricated panels
by ConWest Exploration Company. Hougen's expands its children's
wear, sporting goods and photography. Odin Hougen is shown in the photo
with the bowling alley visible to the right. Odin later operated Marsh
Lake Lodge.
Yukon Photo, a division of Hougen's, advertises "state of
the art" processing equipment. A roll of film is developed for 10¢,
and prints from 4¢ to 6¢.
